The Holy Month of Ramadan is finally here upon us in the UAE. Most people recognize Ramadan as the month of “Fasting”. Fasting, which is the Fourth Pillar of the Five Pillars of Islam, is an obligatory practice during the holy month of Ramadan.
Daily routine during Ramadan
During the Fast, starting from Dawn (fajr) until Dusk (Maghrib), Muslims are prohibited from eating, drinking and other fundamental things that are not allowed during fasting. The Arabic word for fasting,“sawm”, means “to refrain”. So not only does this mean refraining from food and water but also means that during this Holy Month, Muslims refrain from evil or impure actions, thoughts and words. Another golden aspect of Ramadan is alms-giving or “Zakaat”,the Third pillar of Islam, which is the practice of charitable giving to those in need.
During Ramadan, people turn towards God and spirituality, cleanse their bodies, thoughts and intentions, and focus on love and charity. It is a month of reflection, time of forgiveness, peace, piety and purity.
We would like to wish everyone Ramadan Kareem and would like to inform that our office timing this month will be from Sunday – Thursday: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.
